Dudley College
Location: Dudley
Sector: Education
Scope:
To supply furniture for Dudley College's new Advance II centre for Advanced Building Technologies, providing modern, durable and versatile solutions suitable for a specialist further education environment.
Project Overview:
The Brief
Following an investment of more than £12 million, Dudley College developed Advance II, a new centre for Advanced Building Technologies designed to provide students with the skills needed for careers within the construction industry.
The specialist facility provides training in areas including Building Services Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Design and Building Information Modelling, with learning environments designed around the latest construction techniques.
Following a competitive tender process, BSG was appointed to supply furniture for the newly built facility.
The Solution
Our Interiors team worked in partnership with Dudley College's project team and construction partner Speller Metcalfe to develop a furniture solution that met the practical requirements of the new learning environment while remaining mindful of the overall project budget.
Throughout the process, we identified opportunities to manage costs without compromising the integrity of the original design.
Furniture was carefully selected to be modern, hard-wearing and suitable for multiple uses, providing the durability required within a busy further education setting while giving the College greater flexibility in how products could be used.
The selected furniture was also suitable for use across Dudley College's wider estate, helping to provide consistency and versatility beyond the Advance II facility.
The Result
The completed installation provides Dudley College's Advance II facility with modern, practical and durable furniture suited to the demands of a specialist education environment.
By working collaboratively with the College and wider project team, we were able to deliver a solution that maintained the design vision while identifying opportunities to manage costs effectively.
The result is a versatile furniture scheme that supports the day-to-day needs of the new facility while providing products that can be used flexibly across the College's wider estate.
