Bouygues Construction
Location: Birmingham
Sector: Commercial
Scope:
To create a state-of-the-art office environment that supports agile working, flexible training facilities, professional meeting spaces and areas for staff to relax and collaborate.
Project Overview:
The Brief
Bouygues Construction wanted to establish a new city-centre office in Birmingham, choosing two floors at Albert House to create a 17,000 sq ft workplace with excellent transport links for employees, clients and partners.
The new environment needed to reflect the professional image of the business while supporting the different ways its teams work. This included agile and project-based working, flexible training facilities, meeting spaces for both employees and clients, and comfortable areas where staff could step away from their desks.
Inclusivity was also an important consideration, with the workplace needing to support employees from a diverse range of backgrounds carrying out a variety of complex roles.
The Solution
Our Interiors team created a flexible workplace designed around the fast-paced and collaborative nature of the construction industry.
Agile working areas incorporate hot desks and lockers, giving employees the freedom to work flexibly and allowing project teams to come together as requirements change.
Flexible training and meeting facilities provide professional spaces for staff development, client meetings and team briefings. Advanced room booking technology also enables teams from across the wider Bouygues business to remotely reserve meeting spaces when working in Birmingham.
Throughout the office, clean white desking creates a bright and contemporary environment, complemented by carefully selected accents of Bouygues' corporate colours. Dedicated relaxation areas provide a change of setting away from traditional workspaces and help create a more varied working environment.
The Result
A modern, professional and highly flexible Birmingham workplace that supports the changing needs of Bouygues' teams.
The combination of agile workspaces, project areas, training facilities, meeting rooms and relaxation spaces gives employees greater choice over how and where they work throughout the day.
The finished environment successfully balances flexibility with a strong professional identity, creating a workplace that supports employees while providing an impressive setting for clients and partners. The new office has also proved increasingly popular with staff, with more of the team choosing to work from the office.
